Reflections
As quarantine descended upon her favorite museum haunts, Brent Neale Winston relied on her memories of afternoons spent wandering the halls of New York City’s top cultural institutions when she began thinking about her next collection. Unable to work from her Midtown office, Winston found her sketchbook a welcome distraction, culling inspiration from her favorite mid-century artists. The resulting capsule, Reflections, draws in part upon the legacy of Frank Stella, the painter, sculptor and printmaker noted for his singular take on minimalism and abstraction. Rainbows, a favorite motif of both Stella and Winston, are a centerpiece of the collection, which is created from hand-carved colored gemstones that are formed into smooth and rounded tubes that are then set upside down, creating a reflection of the beloved symbol. With a nod to Marianne Faithful’s swinging London style, Reflections—a modern '60s revival also featuring ball chain accents, oversized button earrings, chunky cuffs, cabochon-cut rings and bold pendants—will launch just as Manhattan is once again feeling groovy.
